Anvil is a small online world, and you can play it right now, free, in your browser.
Everyone who plays is on the same island at the same time. Chop the trees, mine the rocks, fish off the shore, turn what you gather into tools at the forge, and claim a patch of land to build a house on. The world keeps going when you log off, and so do your workstations.
Drag to see the same village after dark. The world keeps its own clock, and everyone sees the same sky.
Master everything, at your own pace
Twelve skills, 1 to 99
Plus weapon mastery. Every level makes you a little better, and titles and prestige wait at the top.
Raise animals
Catch chickens, ducks, sheep, pigs and cows, pen them, feed them and breed them for eggs, wool, milk and truffles.
Fight
Creatures in the wilds, weapon abilities, and a corpse only you can loot.
Trade
Face to face with other players, with vendors, and on the player market.
Craft
At forges, workbenches, kilns, looms and campfires that keep working while you are away.
Farm
Till, plant, water and harvest. Crops grow in real time.
Build a home
Claim land, grow the claim, and build a house with rooms, hallways, station rooms and furniture. You wake up in your own bed.
Gear up
Over a thousand pieces of armour and weapons, each with its own rolled stats.
Be social
Global and local chat, whispers, friends, and guilds with ranks.
Chase long goals
A collection log, milestones every five levels, rare finds, pets to discover and titles to wear.
Life on the island
Press Run game, or download the Windows or Linux build (the itch app keeps it up to date).
Create an account (a username and a password of 8 or more characters) and make your character.

Helmets, shields and most armour show in your bag but not yet on your character. Their worn art is being drawn.
The world may be wiped between playtest versions. Wipes are announced in the devlog, with what was kept.
